How and where to pay your income tax

income tax payment method channels Inland Revenue Board (IRB) / Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN) Malaysia has made it very easy for you as a taxpayer to pay your taxes. You have the options to pay them directly to LHDN via  FPX (Financial Process Exchange) services or through the many appointed agents.

Listed below are the various channels (and appointed agents) that you can use to pay your tax:

 

1) Tax Payment Through FPX Services

This service enables tax payment through FPX (Financial Process Exchange) gateway.
A user (taxpayer) is required an internet banking account with the FPX participating bank. The participating banks are as follows:

  • Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad
  • CIMB Bank
  • Hong Leong Bank Berhad
  • Maybank2e (via both Maybank2e and Maybank2U)
  • Public Bank Berhad

2) Tax Payment Services via LHDNM Agents

You can choose from several methods when paying through an appointed agent.


a) Payment over the counter

Payment of Income Tax, Real Property Gains Tax (RPGT) and Monthly Tax Deduction (MTD) can be made by cash, cheque, and instruction to debit account at the following LHDNM agents' branches throughout Malaysia;

  • CIMB Bank
  • Public Bank
  • Maybank
  • EON Bank
  • POS Malaysia (cash payment only)
  • Affin Bank

You need to provide the following information in the payment slip:

  1. Payment Code
  2. Name of Taxpayer / Employer
  3. Tax reference no. / Employer reference no.
  4. Identity card no.
  5. Year of assessment / Year and month of the MTD payment
  6. Payment amount

Notes:

  • Cheque payment at EON Bank counters limited to house cheque only.
  • MTD payment is only available at CIMB and Public Bank. The company are required to submit soft-copy information of employees and other information specified by LHDNM.

 

b) Payment via internet

Below are the appointed agents that have the electronic payment facilities to receive tax payments.

1. Income Tax and Real Property Gains Tax (RPGT)

    Citi Bank via www.citibank.com.my (for company only)
  • EON Bank via www.eonbank.com.my
  • Maybank via www.maybank2u.com.my (for individual only)
                   via www.maybank2e.net (for company only)
  • Public Bank via www.pbebank.com.my
  • Pos Malaysia Berhad via www.posonline.com.my (Taxpayers' account debited via CIMBClicks, Bank Rakyat, Hong Leong Online, RHB Bank, MEPSCASH, Bank Islam, EON Bank, Al-Rajhi Bank dan Affin Bank)

 

2. Monthly Tax Deduction (MTD)

  • Alliance Bank via www.alliancebank.com.my
  • CIMB via www.cimbbizchannel.com.my
  • Citi Bank via www.citibank.com.my (for company only)
  • Maybank via www.maybank2e.net (for company only)
  • Public Bank via www.pbebank.com.my
  • RHB Bank via www.rhb.com.my
  • AM Bank via www.e-ambiz.com.my
  • OCBC Bank via www.ocbc.com.my
  • HSBC Bank via www.hsbcnet.com

 

c) Payment via ATM

Payment of individual Income Tax and Real Property Gain tax (RPGT) can be made via Auto Teller Machine (ATM) at appointed agent banks as follows;

  • Public Bank Berhad
  • Maybank Berhad
  • CIMB Bank Berhad

You must have an ATM card from the respective bank to proceed with payment and need to provide your income tax reference number to complete the transaction.

 

d) Payment via tele-banking

Payment of individual Income Tax and RPGT can be made via tele-banking service at agent bank as follow;

  • Maybank Berhad - Kawanku Phone Banking (1-300-88-6688)

 

e) Payment via Cheque Deposit Machine (CDM)

Payment of individual Income Tax and RPGT can be made via CDM at the appointed agent below;

  • Public Bank Berhad

 

f) Payment via Cash Deposit Machine (CAM)

Payment of individual Income Tax and RPGT can be made via CDM at the appointed agent below;

  • CIMB Bank Berhad
